Since 2017, Idea Air has had an international project team of companies from the aerospace industry working on the development of innovative economy seats. The result is ZIMPhoenix. As part of the agreed development cooperation, the development engineers from ZIM Aircraft Seating and Idea Air will continue to work together in the future to develop even more sustainable seating solutions for commercial aviation.

The ZIMPhoenix is an absolute novelty at the trade fair and perfectly complements ZIM Aircraft Seating's product portfolio. The ZIMPhoenix is designed for short and medium-haul flights and is aimed in particular at the single aisle or narrow-body aircraft from major manufacturers. Thanks to innovative solutions, the weight of the seat is around 20 percent below industry standards. The new development is a further contribution by ZIM Aircraft Seating to greater sustainability, because by installing this seat, airlines save considerable fuel every day.The ZIMPhoenix Not only does its lightweight construction stand out: its design is sophisticated and was created in collaboration with the international agency PriestmanGoode. Its ergonomic and space-saving design also meets the latest standards of comfort and safety. The ZIMPhoenix consists of just a few high-quality components, which increases its lifespan and reduces maintenance costs. The structural structure also enables the integration of further options and further applications in order to be able to offer customers an interesting product portfolio.
